Despite widespread condemnation for their actions, a group of Atleti fans have continued to target Vinicius ever since, hanging a picture of the player under a bridge with a banner reading 'Madrid hates Real'.
In a statement released by Real Madrid on its official website, it called on those fans to be held accountable for their heinous
act: "Real Madrid C.F. would like to thank you for your support and love after the act of bad and upset. racism, xenophobia and hatred against our player Vinicius.
"We would like to strongly condemn these actions that attack the basic rights and dignity of people, which have nothing to do with the values that football and sports represent.
"Attacks such as those suffered by our player, or thoseAny sportsman has no place in a society like ours. Real Madrid is confident that those who participated in this heinous act will be held accountable.
" Real Madrid, CBF joined Atletico to condemn the abuse of Vinicius Junior The Confederacao Brasileira de Futebol and Real Madrid have condemned the abuse of Vinicius Junior by some Atletico Madrid fans.
Real Madrid has called on the authorities to hold accountable those behind the abuse of Vinicius Junior.
Madrid will host rivals Atletico Madrid in a Copa Del Rey match on Thursday. In the run-up to the match, pictures were shared on social media showing a mannequin, wearing Vinicius' shirt, hanging from the neck of a bridge in the capital of Spain.
This was condemned by Atleti, who issued a statement saying: "Such actions are deplorable and unacceptable and a disgrace to society.
Our condemnation of any attack on the dignity of people or institutions is unique and unreserved.
" Madrid has now joined its neighbors in condemning what it described as "a terrible act of racism, hatred and bigotry".
which came out and said: "Real Madrid would like to thank you for the support and the outpouring of love it has received after the deplorable act of racism, hatred and bigotry towards our player Vinicius.
"We would like to strongly condemn these actions that attack the basic rights and dignity of people, which have nothing to do with the values that football and sports represent.
"Attacks such as those suffered by our players, or those suffered by any sportsperson, have no place in society.
"Real Madrid believes that those who participated in this terrible act will be held accountable.
"The Confederacao Brasileira de Futebol (CBF) also joined in the condemnation. "The CBF strongly rejects the racist actions that Vinicius faced again," it said in a statement.
"Intolerance and discrimination are not part of sports and must be eradicated from society.
We hope that those responsible will be found and punished by law. "LaLiga has called for a full investigation to be launched and punitive measures against the perpetrators.
