Real has now confirmed that Mendy has been diagnosed with a muscle injury and local reports believe that he could be out of action for up to six weeks, which is a major setback for this season.

Real, who are five points behind Barcelona in La Liga, have tough league games against Valencia and Real Betis to look forward to over the next six weeks, as well as a Madrid derby against their rivals. at Atletico on February 26.

Carlo Ancelotti's men are also set to travel to Camp Nou to face Barcelona on March 19, giving Mendy a real race against time to be fit for this crucial fixture.

"[Camavinga] did a good job," Ancelotti said about the performance of the French star. "He wasn't used to it but, with him and Vinicius, we created a lot of chances in that area.

"He is an option that we can use, even if he is not comfortable, he gives us energy, which he contributes in the midfield and also as a winger.

In that position, when he is with Vinicius, the right-back should be more in the interior. . , and he does that very well."
